Carole A. Feuerman is recognized as one of the world’s most renowned, influential, and popular hyperrealist sculptors.  Her prolific career spans four decades in which she has pioneered new approaches to sculpture. 

In May, the Double Diver, Feuerman's monumental sculpture towering 36 feet in the air, was installed at NetApp’s headquarters and gifted to the city of Sunnyvale, California. 

Using the innovative technique of dripping molten bronze and utilizing the ability to make 4,800 pounds of bronze balance on six-inch bronze wrists, she pushed the boundaries of both art and physics; creating a sculpture that is truly the first of its kind. 


 

Feuerman is currently exhibiting in Personal Structures, Time Space Existence, Global Art Affairs Foundation, which is part of this year's 2015 Venice Biennale in Italy.

Her solo exhibition, Art in Harbour City, Hong Kong just closed and the sculptures are now going to be touring Asia. They will be shown next at the Daejeon Museum of Art in Daejeon, South Korea in a hyperrealism exhibition opening on Sept 4th. After that they will be exhibited at a museum in the capital city of Seoul.

Her work is currently on exhibit in a solo show at KM Fine Art in Chicago. 

On August 22nd she is having an outdoor sculpture show at Gerson Zevi Gallery in Water Mill, NY in the Hamptons featuring 13 outdoor bronzes.

October 9th is the opening of another solo show at Hubner & Hubner Gallery in Frankfurt, Germany.

Aria Gallery from Florence, will open their new space in London in mid October with a 2 person show featuring Feuerman.

In the spring of 2016 she will have a New York Solo show and a solo show at the in the DeLand Museum in Florida.

She continues to focus on making figurative sculptures for public and private collections. Feuerman maintains two studios in NY and NJ. On an ongoing basis, Feuerman's work can be seen in selected galleries and museums worldwide.

Carole A. Feuerman has been invited to take part in a major Hyperrealism Group Exhibition at the Daejeon Musuem of Art in Daejeon City, South Korea. The exhibition is entitled Hyperrealism: Nothing is Static and will be running from September 4th through December 20th 2015.

As a veteran hyperrealist, Feuerman is keen to participate in such an exciting milestone for her artistic genre with over 80 works going on display from 16 different artists from eight different countries.

The Daejeon Museum’s mission with this exhibition is to celebrate and explore the history of Hyperrealism as well as consider its future evolution. This group museum exhibition is scheduled to travel onto Seoul next, followed by Taiwan, then Singapore, and Japan.

Through her work, Feuerman seeks to synthesize simulated hyper reality with a masterful illusionary effect that stimulates and elevates everyday reality.

Her sculptures are hailed for their meticulous manipulations of the human form, which translate into tangible presentations of complex, emotive figures that depict individually crystalized narratives.

Feuerman is a virtuoso sculptor capable of reflecting a vast range of human emotions in her work. From wrinkles to veins, the technical prowess honed over a forty-year career is evident in every one of her Swimmers.

She confronts viewers with her hyper real figures and challenges them to achieve a fuller actualization of their senses.

Her sculptures are constantly bringing us into deeper dialogue with ourselves about how we define our own reality and whether we are willing to renew that definition.

Are we willing to expand our perceptual horizons as well as defy any or all temporal limitations in order to see infinity in the details of life?

FEUERMAN'S ART TRANSFORMS HARBOUR CITY WATERFRONT OF HONG KONG

JUNE 18TH - JULY 5TH 

The forecourt of Harbour City Hong Kong is going to be transformed into a swimming pool for summer, and will feature six sculptures by world renowned artist Carole A. Feuerman.  The show, organized by Art in the City at Harbour City, opens on June 18th and runs through July 5th.  The sculptures will be on view daily from 10am till 10pm.

Harbour City is located on the spectacular Victoria Harbour, one of the busiest spots in Hong Kong, and right next to the famous Star Ferry terminal! Feuerman's six sculptures will be exhibited in a swimming pool constructed specifically for Feuerman’s swimmers solo show. Water will be coupled with interactive technology to complete the elegant illusion. Olympus, Lauren Perdue will be one of Feuerman's sculptures featured on the waterfront. Harbour City receives 222,000 visitors daily. It is a must visit destination for locals and tourists alike. All of Harbour’s events are free admission and non-commercial. They are striving to inject art into the community and act as a bridge between artists and the public.

Harbour City sought out Feuerman’s work because her Swimmers live forever in perpetual summer. Their presence will be a catalyst for people to relish the season and revel in the fact that summer is back! Choosing to exhibit Feuerman’s sculptures in heavily trafficked areas will encourage people to interact with the pieces and feel the warmth and excitement that they radiate.

Art in the City’s mission is to raise public awareness and promote art through media. They hope to educate the younger generation as well as the entire community about artistic expression through the experience of public exhibitions.

Harbour City has held five mega public art and cultural exhibitions since 2007. Among them was Ms. Yayoi Kusama’s ebullient solo show: “Dots Obsession, Soul of Pumpkin” as well as Florentijn Hofman’s wildly successful “Rubber Duck”, which drew thousands of admirers along the Harbour front.

Harbour City called on Feuerman to usher in heightened artistic interaction on a personal level for everyday viewers. Her sculptures are magnets for the eye and transformative for any public atmosphere. 

After the Hong Kong show, the sculptures will be exhibited in the Daejeon Museum of Art in South Korea, then travel to a museum in Seoul and on to Taiwan.

Recently back from Italy where her two new sculptures are being exhibited in the 2015 Venice Biennale by GAAF, Personal Structures, Feuerman is passionately enthusiastic about exhibiting in Hong Kong. 

Her sculptures will enhance the environment and leave an enduring legacy of joy and beauty in this magnificent public space.

Carole Feuerman's 2015 IS Day Open Studio Rocked & MANA Lobby Exhibition Happpening Now!

The White Stripes’ music blasted through speakers from Mana’s fourth floor café directly across from Carole Feuerman’s open IS Day studio.

Jack White’s howling guitar was the perfect opening serenade for the chorus of Carole’s sculptures basking in hyper-real, pulse racing resurrection.

 

During International Sculpture Day at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, Carole’s Studio was a phantasmagoria of hyper-real shimmering swimmers in prime condition and polished to perfection.  

Free refreshments were served and the crowd gathered to get up close, ultra-access to see Carole’s glowing, sculpted, bodies that flawlessly mirror the human form.

There are certain calendar events that you would kick yourself for missing. Carole’s IS Day celebration at MANA Contemporary was definitely one of those happenings and people knew it. Many took off work, while others drove in from out of state!

If you were at the event and found yourself talking to one of Carole’s hyper-realistic sculptures by accident, don’t worry you’re not alone. One gentleman even humorously confessed his feelings for a sculpture as he took a photo, “You don’t have eyes, but I love you.”

Mana Contemporary is a cultural center in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Opened in May 2011, the center provides services, spaces, and programming for artists, collectors, curators, performers, students, and community. It is conveniently located at 888 Newark Ave, Jersey City.

Once an old Tobacco Factory, the massive space has been turned into a beacon of artistic excellence that beckons all to explore its labyrinth of bold works.

Mana champions sculpture and on IS Day there were over a hundred artist studios open to the public! This free event drew loads of people and as they came through Mana’s doors they were immediately immersed in Carole Feuerman's Lobby Exhibition!

Carole’s Sculptures including, Kendall Island, Next Summer, Diver, and Mona Lisa are the perfect introduction to MANA!

Her dedicated efforts, visible in every hyper-real detail, speak to the aesthetic exertions of her fellow impassioned legions of artists at Mana Contemporary. The building is united in diverse, active creating.

Carole is excited that her Swimmers are on display at her second studio home and will act as welcoming beacons!

 Carole's newest innovation is Kendall's elevated diving board pedestal.

She was inspired after seeing Kendall Island installed on a custom made six foot pedestal in New Orleans as part of the year long Poydras Corridor Sculpture Exhibit.

Kendall’s elevation was especially compelling and Carole wanted to give her that same engaging presence at Mana.

The Lobby Exhibition will run through July.

Carole's Picks: Alyssa Monks

Carole's Pick for this month is an American painter named Alyssa Monks. Her hyperreal pieces are just as luscious as they are convincing.  The surfaces are rich with a wavy impasto texture; every aspect of her paintings incites the desire to touch.

Water is a staple element in Monks' oeuvre, whether the figure is submerged in, emerging from, or obscured by its presence.  Her ability to convey the glistening subtleties of water's interaction with human skin is truly remarkable.  The vast range within her palettes infer a mastery of color theory.

By virtue of their wetness, Monks' figures are overtly sexual and tantalizing.  Their gaze is often set to engage the viewer directly, peering out from the canvas in search of intimate interaction.

Carole first grew fond of Alyssa Monk's work when the two showed together in Germany at Kunstmuseum Ahlen.  Both were featured in in the exhibition Intimacy! Bathing in Art, as well as the show's resulting monograph.  Explore more of Alyssa Monks' paintings on her website here.
