The Message

Carole Feuerman's bronze sculpture 'The Message' recalls simpler times of communication, before the days of emails, smartphones, and social media. The shimmering figure stoops gracefully to retrieve a mysterious note; the viewer is left to wonder about its contents and sender. With her polished bronze finish, it is almost as though this woman is comprised of the sunlight she basks in.

The figure is shown in a phase of tension between receiving and reading this message. There is no subject line, no sender address... no telling who or where it is from until she reads it. 'The Message' romanticizes human communication through this glimmering bronze figure caught in a moment of suspense.
Next Summer

Summertime arrives with promises of rest and relaxation. Carole Feuerman's 'Next Summer' brings the season's joys to life in the form of one very content poolgoer. Decked out in a zesty printed suit, the figure revels in the luxury of her chrome inner tube.

The illusion of flotation is cleverly achieved by installing the dense sculpture at the water level height. The pool display not only makes contextual sense, but creates a dynamic visual interplay between the water and chrome tube.

The tube's reflective surface also invites the viewer into the piece, allowing one to literally see themselves in paradise. The audience can thus become apart of 'Next Summer,' joining into the poolside dreamworld of the figure before them.
Carole A. Feuerman
Carole A. Feuerman is an American sculptor and author working in Superrealism. She is credited with starting the movement in the late 1970s. She is known for her figurative works of swimmers and dancers. Her work is in the selected collections of thirty-five museums, owned by the City of Peekskill, New York, and the City of Sunnyvale California, Former President Clinton, the Frederick R. Weisman Foundation, Mr. Steven Cohen, Maluma, Andrea Bocelli, Alexandre Bartelle, and the Forbes Magazine Collection. In 2011, she founded the Carole A. Feuerman Sculpture Foundation. She lives and works in New York.
